The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested Abdul-Aziz Nyako, the son of impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako for alleged corruption.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
He said that Abdul-Aziz was picked up by EFCC operatives in Gombe state and would be grilled in relation to how N15bn belonging to the Adamawa State Government was laundered through five accounts of companies belonging to him.
The statement reads: “Barely two weeks after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, declared former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako and his son, Abdul-Aziz, wanted, operatives of the anti- graft agency, this morning arrested the younger Nyako in Gombe, Gombe State. He was immediately flown to Abuja where he is currently being grilled by a crack team of detectives who had been working on the Adamawa investigation for several months. "
